Combined Campaign for Justice Celebrates an Outstanding Fundraising YearPosted on: 03/08/2006
February 1, 2006 Combined Campaign for Justice Celebrates an Outstanding Fundraising Year Wilmington, DE-- The funds raised by the Campaign support the valuable work of Delaware’s three legal services agencies that provide free legal representation to low-income people: Community Legal Aid Society, Inc.(CLASI), Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Inc. (DVLS) and Legal Services Corporation of Delaware, Inc. (LSCD). In 2004, among other services provided, the three agencies helped nearly 4,000 Delaware residents obtain financial and medical assistance, decent housing and protection from domestic abuse. The Delaware State Bar Association organized the Campaign in 1999 to coordinate the appeal for support by the three agencies from Delaware lawyers. Since that time the Campaign has provided valuable resources for low-income Delawareans in need of free civil legal services. The Campaign received national recognition for its work when it received the 2000 Harrison Tweed Award from the American Bar Association. Representatives from the three legal services providers and the Campaign co-chairs will recognize the generous contributions made by lawyers, judges, law firms, banks, corporations and other members of the Delaware civic community as well as the Campaign leadership, who helped make this the most successful fundraising year in the history of the Combined Campaign for Justice. This year’s pledges exceed $750,000. The per capita, amount per attorney, raised by the 2005 Combined Campaign for Justice is believed to exceed the per capita giving of any other statewide Bar Campaign in the United States. The Campaign co-chairs also will recognize all law firms with 100% attorney participation, including: Bifferato, Gentilotti & Biden; Drinker, Biddle & Reath, LLP; Heckler & Frabizzio; Parkowski, Guerke & Swayze, P.A.; Rosenthal, Monhait, Gross & Goddess, P.A.; and Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP. |
